Spring season ends,
Jim & Jim win again.
3rd straight indoor championship!

Spring winners

The Spring indoor bocce league just finished up this past week. The courts downtown have been rolled up and put away for the rest of the year.

If you missed out on playing, all you missed was this pair of Jim's winning their 3rd straight SBL indoor championships and adding to their medal collection  (photo above) Jim Englund (left) was again tournament MVP for his clutch play, including back to back 4 packs right after giving up a 4 pointer to DeAnna early in the 'If' game.  This turned a 0-5 defecit into an 11-6 victory some serious bragging rights for team 'Jim Squared".

This 11-6 victory in the second championship game was the first of five straight games played Thursday night starting at 6:30 with a 11-8 victory over Ron/Sharon, 11-8 over Steve/Traci (4th place), Alan/John (3rd place) 11-9, and the first championship game 11-8 over Barry/DeAnna.

Barry/DeAnna gave Jim/Jim their only loss of the tournament 11-9 in the undefeated semi-final game. MVP Jim Englund also played the entire night with a large gash on his right temple.  This happened by walking into a suspended rod hanging in the building and is the first injury we have had in 5 years (outside of ego bruising). So, playing with a wet cloth over the wound and winning five straight games (all close) was indeed 'studly'.
